Shipps docks at vp, sales spot at Ecom

FULLERTON, CA -Ecom Textile Inc. announced the selection of Michael Shipps as vp of sales and marketing, a newly created position.

The move was a continuation of the strengthening of the company's management team.

Ecom Textile, based here, is an Internet exchange that serves as an electronic hub for the global textile and apparel industry. The site, which was officially launched on Aug. 28, is one of the first Internet marketplaces for the global textile, apparel, machinery and sewn products industries. The exchange allows buyers to transact business electronically.

Shipps, who most recently worked for Escrow.com, will report directly to John Adams, ceo. While at the Santa Ana, CA-based Escrow.com, Shipps developed the company's conception of an outside sales force targeting B2B and B2C e-commerce sites. Shipps' tenure also saw Escrow.com become a leader in online escrow and financial offerings.

Prior to his tenure at Escrow.com, Shipps was employed by MCI Telecommunications in Seattle and Atlanta as regional sales manager, regional data consultant and senior technical consultant.

Shipps holds an MBA with an emphasis in telecommunications management from National University in Sacramento, CA.
