Springs restructures creative design team

FORT MILL, SC -Forging closer links between its designers, customers and sales teams, Springs Industries Inc. is restructuring its creative development staff into account-specific design teams that will work side by side with the sales representatives who service specific retail accounts.
"Focusing our design resources on specific accounts will enable us to become their fashion authority and their most valuable supplier of home furnishings," said Torrence Shealy, senior vp, marketing.
Under the new program, design teams will be made up of a team leader, bed and bath stylists and outside resources as needed. In addition, the company said, product experts in towels, rugs and bath accessories will be a resource to help design teams manufacture or source product more effectively and innovatively. The new team structure will be in effect next month.
Heading up the Springs creative development team is Nancy Webster, an expert in textile design, who received a Home Textiles Today Hometex design award in 1997, and was named by Textile World magazine in 1994 as one of the top 10 textiles leaders.
