Karachi, Pakistan – Yunus Textile Mills, Ltd. was recently honored with the Wal-Mart 2007 International Supplier of the Year Award.
The ceremony was held under a large festive tent at the Yunus Textile facilities here before an audience of company officials, journalists, politicians and well-wishers. Arthur Emmanuel, svp sourcing and retail import development, Wal-Mart, presented the award to Altaf Gul Muhammad, gm-operations, and Imran Tabba, a Yunus principal.
Emmanuel noted that the award is “not based on volume but consistent quality, service and a commitment” to excellence. Yunus, the parent of Kearny, N.J.-based Royale Linens, is a diversified producer of fashion bedding, window treatments and home decor accessories.
Altaf Gul Muhammad said winning the Wal-Mart award for the second time “was indeed a team effort. The members of the team have not been focused on the award itself but devoted in the desire to be a world class manufacturer.”
The ceremony was followed by an extensive tour of the Yunus manufacturing facilities.
The Americans give lessons to everyone on Free World, Democracy, and Free Trade, If today Yunus Textiles get award from Wal Mart, it is because of their hard work, better quality, competative pricing. No one gives out money if they dont have thier profits and interest, this is very basic. In fact Wal Mart is using Pakistan cheap factors of productions and supplying lowly priced products to the Americans, which they cannot compete themselves. So buck up and get back to the competative grounds.

Great!!! Walmart complains about consumer buying in the U.S. being down, consumers not buying and how it is hurting them. Well all I can say is that they have done it to themselves.
They buy products from companies Like Yunas in other countries which in turn helps put American textile plants out of business. Thousands of Americans are out of work because of this Walmart kind of mindset. If the American people don't have jobs then how can retailers like Walmart expect them to have the money to buy anything from them? It is like the saying I have heard all my life "You reap what you sow".
I also cannot understand how a Company like this can give awards to foreign companies that have (with their help) hurt so many Americans? Give the award to American families that struggle to make ends meet and feed their families after their jobs have been done away with.
If Walmart wants to do something that will get their pictures and names in the papers and magazines then why don''''t they put some effort into getting the American industry back on its feet? The American people have, and can produce as good or better a product as any company in any other country. If Walmart and any other retailers in the United States want consumer spending to increase then quit taking away their jobs and ability to earn something that they can spend with.
