Kathy Ireland Line Enhanced by Sleep Comfort

Goal of ThermaComfort Line is to Increase Quality of Sleep

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 2/13/2007 12:00:00 AM

At the New York Market — Sleep Comfort Systems is showcasing its Kathy Ireland selections in their 295 Fifth Avenue suite No. 508 this week.

Mindful of its "Solutions for Your Best Rest" motto, the company has produced the TheraComfort line under the Kathy Ireland Home Gallery selections, offering innovative solutions for head, neck, and lumbar support. The goal is to reduce muscle tension, improve ergonomic support, and increase the quality of sleep.

For example, Sleep Comfort employs Lura-Tex foam in the TheraComfort Lumbar Support Pad. LuraTex is a naturally resilient, temperature-neutral foam that conforms to individual body contours to offer ideal pressure point relief. The company said the "feel" of LuraTex mimics the buoyant, luxurious cushioning of latex without the negative qualities — lack of heat dissipation and limited durability. Also, LuraTex features Ultra Fresh antimicrobial, anti-mold and mildew qualities, and Fresh Foam activated carbon, greatly reducing the odor associated with foam.

Three interchangeable lumbar inserts form the basis for the design of the Support Pad. The pad is designed to slip under the body while providing customized lumbar, hip and pelvic support that brings the spine into optimum alignment, while allowing muscles to relax. Support may be varied from base, to moderate, to firm with the three separate inserts.

The TheraComfort Support Pillow features a similar design. Three interchangeable neck support inserts allow the user to customize the feel of the support pillow in much the same way as the inserts are used to provide support in the pad.

Another product in the Gallery Collection TheraComfort line is the MicroMemory Pillow. The inner component of this pillow is cushioning clusters of MicroMemory foam; the outer therapeutic wrap features a dimensional, patent-pending Waffle Pattern foam design that forms ideal sleep support while providing ultra-high air flow to maintain temperature neutrality.

The three-dimensional Waffle Pattern will be a favorite of consumers who "sleep hot," and experience surges of body temperature that disrupt sleep and discourage deep sleep.

Sleep Comfort is also showing its encased-coil support systems, which use inserted pocketed innersprings in products like the SpringEncased Memory Foam Pillow. This item has a construction that molds premium density memory foam around low coil innersprings — for buoyant cushioning that offers conforming head and neck support vital to a good night's sleep.

Yet another Kathy Ireland offering, this in the KI First Lady Collection, is the SpringEncased Mattress Topper, featuring the same unique Memory Foam and Encased Coils for supportive lumbar cushioning.
