Linens ’n Things names Homler to marketing post

Clifton, N.J. – The new chief of Linens ’n Things, Inc. appears to be moving quickly to build his team.

Today the company named Robert Homler senior vp marketing. He was executive vp of nutrition retailer GNC for the past year; the controlling stockholders of both GNC and Linens ’n Things are affiliates of Apollo Management. Homler will report directly to Robert DiNicola, chairman and ceo.

During more than 35 years in retailing, Homler has also served as president of merchandising and marketing for Levitz Furniture and in senior roles at Macy’s and Federated Department Stores.
