Charleston, S.C. —
Designer Eve Blossom and the company she founded, Lulan Artisans, are presenting Organic Symmetry, a new collection of hand-woven, hand-dyed silk textiles and home accessories.
Offered as yardage as well as home accessories such as bedcovers, pillows, table runners, window treatments and throws, Lulan goods are created in cooperation with two American designers working with artisans in five Asian countries.
Blossom taps California designers Laura Guido-Clark and Michael Koch for the Lulan looks.
Organic Symmetry "references the environmentally sensitive materials and fabrication process of the offering as well as its geometric patterns," the company said. The designs use multi-layered weaves in a brocading technique to accentuate subtle textures. Fabrics are hand-colored with natural or low-impact dyes with the use of all-natural materials in the Lulan method.
The two 100% hand-woven silk patterns are Dots and Dashes, with graphics upon a soft tonal field in six colorways: cream, sand, butter, poppy, willow and sprig; and Curvilinear, featuring soft hues topped with luminous curved brocading, in six colorways: scallop, taupe, cloud, copper, mint and sable.
The collection also includes Rain, a 100% hand-knotted silk rug in six colorways: raw umber, indigo calm, mauve, cochineal, turmeric and birch tree.
We would love your feedback!
