Libeco-Lagae augments bed, table linen lineup

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/3/2001 12:00:00 AM

Libeco-Lagae, the Belgian linen weaver, recently debuted its newest collection of linens for the bed and table featuring bright, bold colors as well as more subtle tones.

Nantucket is a 100 percent linen bedding collection in subtle blue-gray hues. Sheets and cases are available in a plain chambray, chambray stripe and light blue, while shams and cases are also available in denim blue. The duvet cover is chambray stripe on one side and chambray on the other. Sheet prices range from approximately $144 to $287, and a queen duvet is about $515.20.

The Portofino collection offers bold, bright colors. Also in 100 percent linen, the fabric has a washed look and a "marble-like" sheen. The duvet covers, finished with mother-of-pearl buttons, pillowcases and shams are available in cayenne, paprika, coral, plum, indigo and cloud. A queen duvet costs about $589.95.

In table linens, the new Charleval pattern is 100 percent linen in an informal red check with a simple hem for the holidays. It's available in four sizes — 70" x 71", 70" x 89", 70" x 107" and 70" x 125" — and prices range from $110 to $208.

The collections are being sold in the U.S. in specialty and department stores, as well as high-end catalogs.
