NEW YORK — Calvin Klein, based here, and Anaheim, CA-based table linen manufacturer W-C Designs recently entered into a long-term exclusive licensing agreement to produce a collection of table linens for the Calvin Klein Home line.
For introduction in 2002, W-C Designs will produce a collection of coordinating napkins, place mats, runners, tablecloths and napkin rings. Designers for Calvin Klein Inc. will design the collection.
The product will be sold in the same stores Calvin Klein currently services — department and specialty stores as well as Calvin Klein Collection stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
"Calvin Klein Home is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic segments of our business," said Tom Murry, president and coo of Calvin Klein Inc., in a press release issued by the company. "Broadening the Home offering to include table linens is an important priority for us; and we're very pleased to be partnering with a company the caliber of W-C Designs."
"We are genuinely excited to begin this relationship with Calvin Klein Home," said Patrick McCullagh, president of W-C Designs. "We are confident that the Calvin Klein Home table linens will offer a unique home fashions signature and will become a key component in the Calvin Klein Home collection."
The Calvin Klein Home line was launched in 1995 as an extension of Calvin Klein's offerings. The existing Home line includes bed, bath and tabletop products.
The Calvin Klein license is the third for W-C Designs, which is also a licensee for Wedgwood and Waterford.
