Central Orient honored

PAWTUCKET, RI —

Home goods retail franchise Floor To Ceiling (FTC) recently awarded its Vendor of the Year award in the area rug category to supplier Central Oriental.

Raymond Shrader, vp of marketing for FTC, presented the award to Central Oriental founder Peter Burnham at the FTC Showcase trade show earlier this month held nearby the retailer's headquarters in Burnsville, Minnesota.

FTC is the franchiser of more than 100 retail interior product stores in the US.

Central Oriental, based here, is a domestic manufacturer and importer of a broad range of area rugs.

Winners in other product categories for the Vendor of the Year award include: Shaw Industries for carpeting; Mid Continent Cabinetry for kitchen; Designer Blinds for Decorative Accessories (which includes window treatments and coverings, decorative pillows and lighting, among other goods); and Mannington Mills for hard surfaces.

The Distributor of the Year award was given to All Tile.
