Mullins resigns from NMG as chairman, ceo

CHESTNUT HILL, MA -H.W. Mullins has resigned from his position as chairman and ceo of the Neiman Marcus Group Inc., effective Jan. 1, 2001.
"After 30 years in retail, I have decided to make a career and lifestyle change," said Mullins. "My 10 years at Neiman Marcus have been the best of my career. NMG is a terrific organization, and I wish them only the very best."
Mullins joined the company in 1991 and held a number of executive positions, primarily in the merchandising organization. He was named head of Neiman Marcus Stores in February 2000.
His duties will be assumed on an interim basis by Burton Tansky, president and coo, while the company seeks a permanent replacement.
