Jo-Ann Stores elevates Smith

Hudson, Ohio – Craft and fabric retailer Jo-Ann Stores has promoted Travis Smith from evp merchandising and marketing to chief operating officer, effective Feb. 1; he will continue to report to chairman, president and ceo Darrell Webb.

Smith, who joined Jo-Ann in 2006, will retain his existing responsibilities for merchandising, marketing, product sourcing and inventory management, while adding responsibility for store operations and supply chain logistics, the company said.

Prior to coming to Jo-Ann, Smith was a veteran of supercenter chain Fred Meyer, where he was svp and gmm.
