Lowe's adds Graves' collection

Lowe's is adding the Michael Graves Collection by Delta Faucet Company — which includes towel bars, glass shelves, towel rings, toothbrush holders, soap/lotion dispensers, vases and tissue holders — to its fashion plumbing portfolio. The items will be available via special order.

Michael Graves' kitchen faucet designs integrate a two-function pivoting aerator with features such as a high-arc spout, vegetable sprayer and soap dispenser. Faucet options include:

Hanover pares exec structure

Hanover Direct has eliminated the position of executive vice president, finance and administration, which had been held by Brian Harris. As part of the downsizing, Charles Blue, senior vice president and chief financial officer, assumes the additional role of company secretary.

Mervyn's testing "dollar shop"

Target Corp.'s Mervyn's chain has been testing a "dollar shop" concept for the past two months that offers items priced from $1 to $5, Mervyn's president Diane Neal said during the company's quarterly conference call last week.

The dollar shop is one of 10 tests currently taking place in Mervyn's. She did not identify all the tests.

The chain is working to upgrade its assortments while holding inventories at a conservative level, "and still remain as promotional as we are," she said.
