New York -- Fashion powerhouse Liz Claiborne, which has been shedding brands, said that as a result of its latest strategic review it has decided to close down the Sigrid Olsen designer brand business, which it owns.
Sigrid Olsen Home had been produced by W-C Designs (Anaheim, Calif.), but a Liz Claiborne spokesperson told HTT that there had been no new products introduced into the market since the spring 2007 collection, and the license was allowed to expire at the end of last year. Claiborne said it had decided to exit the home business “well before today’s announcement.”
In spring 2006, the Sigrid Olsen Organic Art bedding ensemble by W-C Designs was voted the winner in the Best Modern Living Design category, by participants in the HTT TiA Awards.
As part of the discontinuation of the brand, Liz Claiborne will shutter the 54 Sigrid Olsen stores by mid-2008, the company said.
We would love your feedback!
