Phoenix Home hires Spencer, moves NY showroom to 7 West

-- Home Textiles Today, 8/31/2009 8:58:00 AM

El Monte, Calif. – Bedding manufacturer Phoenix Home has hired Bill Spencer as vp of sales and marketing, reporting to Ben Lang, president and ceo.

Prior to joining Phoenix Home Fashions, Spencer served as a retail buyer for 16 years for retailers including May Department Stores and Target. Most recently, Spencer held sales positions with Hallmart Collectibles and TexStyle. Spencer also was national sales manager for bedding importer GTT International.

“We have been looking for someone with extensive knowledge of the industry, expertise in product development, a feel for design, and someone who understands the day to day challenges our buyers face in order to help us move our company forward,” said Lang.

The company also announced it has opened a new New York showroom on the 10th floor of the 7 West 34th Street building. The showroom space is temporary for the September market, Lang said, until its permanent space is available in October.

“We have needed more space to properly show our innovative and very extensive product line; and now with almost 3,900 square feet, we finally have that space,” said Lang

Phoenix Home Fashions designs, manufactures, and imports comforter sets, sheet sets, bed in a bag, room in a bag, throws, decorative pillows, and more.
