P'tex veteran joins Beacon

SWANNANOA, NC —

Brian Dunlap, a six-year veteran of Pillowtex Corp., has joined Beacon Blankets as coo and cfo.

Dunlap had worked for Pillowtex Corp. as controller of the blanket division and in a number of manufacturing positions.

At Beacon Blankets — which was acquired in September from Pillowtex by a management group and a private investor — Dunlap will be part of the three-man office of the chairman, joining investor and ceo John Kuklenski and Tedd Smith, president.

"He's a rare find with financial and manufacturing experience all rolled up into one package," said Smith. "He will be responsible for all of the operations and all of the financial matters of the company."

Reporting to Dunlap, said Smith, will be Steve Good, executive vp of manufacturing, and Robin Launius, controller.
