Commonwealth expands Thermalogic curtain line

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/4/2008 2:55:00 PM

Montreal – Commonwealth Home Fashions is expanding the line of Thermalogic engery-efficient curtains it debuted during the February market, adding new textures and fabrics to the line for the upcoming New York Home Fashions Market.

“These days, smart consumers are increasingly focused on managing their home heating costs,” said Barry Goodman, vp, national accounts, noting that Thermalogic curtains are designed to minimize drafts and heat loss. They also darken rooms and provide noise reduction for more restful sleep.

The line was introduced last market in a variety of solids. This market Commonwealth is adding textured solids and woven black-outs. Constructions already in the line include suede, poly/cotton and duck. Treatments include tab panels, pole-top panels and grommets.

Goodman said Commonwealth is seeing retailers call out the energy-saving proposition in merchandising Thermalogic. “The whole marketing approach has been [to tell the story] on signage and hang-tags,” he said.

Thermalogic targets the good, better and best segments of the market. Retails range from $39 per pair to $59 per pair.
