J.R. United adds sales mgr.

MIAMI, FL — Bedding and kitchen, beach and bath towel manufacturer and importer J.R. United Industries recently hired industry veteran Larry Martineau as its new national sales manager.

Martineau, who has spent the past 35 years of his career working in the home textiles industry, reports directly to Salo Grosfeld, president.

Martineau spent the past 25 years working for beach and bath towel supplier Hilasal. At Hilasal, he served in several capacities, from national sales manager to, most recently, president of the retail division. Prior to that he worked for Fieldcrest and Wamsutta.

Grosfeld had been handling all the [national sales manager post's] responsibilities. Now, he said, "I have some time ? to work on other projects here, like expanding our [licensed program with] Izod and growing the new embellished and embroidered towel business."

Martineau will establish and supervise a national sales force to develop new business with new accounts at tiers.
