New York — Eight home textiles manufacturers from Portugal now have a permanent New York showroom and U.S. sales representation at 7 W. 34th St. in suite 607.
A consortium of local companies was formed under the name Home Portugal-Trade Show to create awareness among retailers and promote Portuguese products to the U.S. market.
The showroom measures 4,165 square feet and encompasses former suites 609 and 611. The home textiles companies showing there on a year-round basis include Bordalima, B. Sousa Dias & Filhos, Castros & Marques, Docofil, Fabrica de Tecidos do Carvalho, Lumatex, Sorema and Fabrica de Tapetes Beiriz, all of which have sold to the United States.
The showroom also features home décor products from 16 companies, half of which produce tabletop and decorative accessories. Displays will change according to season, trends and timing of various product markets.
