Decorative Fabrics Designer Lindsay Dies

Kernersville, N.C. —Long time home textiles and decorative fabrics designer Anthony G. 'Tony' Lindsay has died.

Lindsay, 68, spent much of his 40-year career in the home textiles industry, with his first stint at the former Cannon Mills, where he ultimately became vp and creative director.

With the merger of Fieldcrest Mills and Cannon in the mid-80s, he became vp and creative director for the combined company.

He later joined Culp as creative director and then held a similar position with the then Elizabeth Weaving.

Most recently, until he retired he was a designer and sales representative for David Rothschild Co., Lindsay was also a faculty advisor for the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

He also chaired the North Carolina State University Design Advisory Board.

He is survived by his wife, three children, 10 grandchildren and a sister.
