American Blanket doles out buyer award

DALTON, GA —

Turning the tables on an old convention, American Blanket Corp. is honoring a retail buyer with its first-ever Best Buyer and Partner Award.

American Blanket, a two-year-old supplier of high-pile jacquard acrylic blankets and throws is saluting Jacque Lemay Weidman, blanket and throw buyer for Fred Meyer Stores, Portland, OR, with the first annual award.

"Jacque is an exceptional buyer," said John Ginn, vp, sales and marketing for American Blankets. "She has excellent fashion sense and market awareness, and she has exceptional knowledge of her stores and what they can sell. Furthermore, she was one of the first buyers to recognize the salability and inherent value of our blankets and throws, got on board early and had a tremendous year with our products."
