TORONTO -Hudson's Bay Company has announced that Michael Rousseau will join the company as executive vp and cfo effective March 5.
Rousseau succeeds Gary Lukassen, who will retire this spring. The two men will work together to ensure a smooth transition.
With a 16-year career in corporate finance, primarily in retail, Rousseau was most recently senior vp and cfo of a U.S.-based multinational company. He also held senior finance positions with a number of retail companies, based here, including The UCS Group and Silcorp Limited.
"Hudson's Bay Company has recruited a competent and experienced individual to assume the role of chief financial officer and a worthy successor to the outstanding legacy of Gary Lukassen," said George Heller, president and ceo. "Michael Rousseau's retail background and knowledge of the Canadian public markets will be a tremendous asset as he assumes his new role and a great addition to our executive team."
The company, also known as The Bay, was established in 1670 and is Canada's largest department store retailer and oldest corporation.
