New York — Indian area rug importer Obeetee Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of India-based area rug manufacturer Obeetee Ltd., earlier this month appointed Bill Ward to the newly created position of ceo.
Company president Pradeep Argarwal formerly also held ceo responsibilities for the company, but told HTT he decided to hire Ward to help in the company's effort to expand product offerings, enhance design and improve the quality of goods.
Ward, who has worked in the Oriental rug industry for 15 years, most recently was vp of upscale home furnishings retailer ABC Carpet & Home.
In his new stint, Ward will report to the company's board of directors.
Established in the 1920s, Obeetee owns and operates a rug manufacturing facility in India and imports rugs into the United States and Canada.
