Socially responsible sourcing is D’Angelo’s aim

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 2/16/2006 1:25:00 PM

New York -- Home design entrepreneur Victoria D'Angelo has opened a consultancy to help fashion textiles and retail sourcers tap into socially responsible products crafted by underprivileged working groups from around the world.

The Global Products Placement Project came about after D'Angelo launched an initiative that brought global distribution to impoverished lace makers in a small village in India. In addition to lace, the new venture offers fashion bedding, novelty fleece, bath rugs, shower curtains, bathrobes, decorative pillows, table linens, kitchen linens, window panels and accent rugs.

Originally a knitwear designer, D'Angelo founded Design Development Team, Int'l Inc. in the mid 1990's as a research vehicle related to product development for the fashion industry. She transitioned into home textiles as D'Angelo Home Collections, Inc. and then Victoria D'Angelo Interior Collections.
