Edison, N.J. —
Vipac Inc. will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2007. Founded in 1947 as a distributor of paperboard boxes, family-owned Vipac has evolved into a leading international supplier of vinyl packaging for a variety of industries, including home fashions, retail, apparel, cosmetics, and sporting goods.
Today's Vipac is run by Morris Abraham, nephew of the founder. The company said it developed the now industry-standard vinyl zipper bag in 1970 when JC Penney, looking for a new concept in home fashions packaging, came to Vipac seeking another option for the cellophane-windowed folding carton that was the standard at the time. The vinyl zipper bag was the functional and cost-effective solution, and a new package and new business was born.
The company has new international administrative and sales offices, including a major corporate and manufacturing presence in Shanghai and Shenzhen, PRC.
Abraham says, "It's certainly a different world out there today. As a leader in packaging for 60 years and the originator of the ever-present vinyl zipper bag, we know that meeting the demands of the marketplace means providing faster service, innovative packaging, and global customer service so that Vipac customers can present their products to achieve the best possible success at retail. It's an exciting, challenging time, and we're more than up to it."
We would love your feedback!
