Bath Towels, Dec Pillows Augment Bedding

At the New York Market — Springs Global US has launched a line of decorative pillows for the Court of Versailles luxury brand and added a core luxury bath program. In addition, as the master licensee for Court of Versailles, the company is introducing six new bedding collections focused on innovative technique, rich fabrications, and serene color palettes.

"With this collection we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Court of Versailles brand as an icon in the American luxury market," said Hermine Mariaux, the Foundation's director of licensing for the Court of Versailles brand.

In the luxury bath program, Springs features a solid color towel collection called Court of Versailles Lux made from a yarn spinning process that produces long, low twist loops. The over-sized Court of Versailles Lux is offered in 10 solid colors from pastels to deeper tones, such as chocolate, moss, sapphire, and deep gold.

"A luxury bath program is a logical extension to the Court of Versailles home collection, both in its indulgence and its coordinated look to the bedroom," said Leslie Gillock, vp of brand management for Springs Global.

A companion to the solid-color collection is Tapestry, a two-tone, oversized damask pattern woven in the same rich technique as Court of Versailles Lux and featuring colors that coordinate to the solid colorways in the luxury program.

The new Court of Versailles dec pillow line is intended to expand the lifestyle concept the brand's bedding collection into other rooms of the home.

The collection includes three design groups, each featuring oversized, highly embellished squares, bolsters, and accent pillows in fine fabrics," said Lucia Fitzgerald, merchandise manager for Springs' basic bedding group.

Fabrics include satin, silk, moiré, velvet, woven damasks, and brocades. Embroideries are done on heavy satin and silk dupioni, and motifs reflect the styles in the Court of Versailles bedding collection, including the scroll design featured on both Court of Versailles sheets and outer bedding.

All the offerings in the Court of Versailles decorative pillows collection are feather filled and overstuffed.

In bedding, new duvets and comforters include:

  • Marie Antoinette, which emphasizes feminine pastels and delicate ribbon embroidery. Top of bed features a wide ribbon frame in shimmering spring greens, ivory, and lavender topstitched onto ivory cotton sateen. The wide ribbon reappears as flanges on standard and Euro shams. It is employed in a variety of ways on several decorative pillows.

  • Neptune features a lustrous silk/cotton blend in aqua blue embellished and embroidered with ivory silk tapes and ribbons that create baroque shell and scroll designs.

  • Jolie presents a dramatic classical scrollwork appliquéd onto all cotton sateen. The pattern is shown in buttery ivory with white appliqué and is also offered in blush pink with the appliqué in café au lait. Duvet and euro shams reverse in each of the color combinations to add extra visual interest.

  • Regal Cameo is a jacquard blending silk and cotton, featuring cameo motifs and floral urns in silk against a matte cotton ground. A bold tone-on-tone woven stripe is seen on the Euro shams and coordinated decorative pillows as well as the duvet's reverse.

  • Belle Epoque refers back to historical damasks, using textured backgrounds to maximize the highlighted silk pattern. Here, the mix of subtle blues for the principal design is set against a soft metallic platinum background.

  • Chenille des Fleurs uses floral vines in chenille yarns to trace an embroidery trail onto a golden sateen.
