Newport adds Tweedie as development manager

PORTLAND, OR —
A new position at decorative pillow and bedding manufacturer Newport was created for Jessica Tweedie.
Tweedie, formerly a senior associate buyer for Bloomingdale's By Mail, has been hired as product development manager. She will work to coordinate product and serve as the liaison between the sample department at the factory and the fashion department, headed by Belinda Ballash, vp and fashion director.
Tweedie reports to both Sandy Uhalde, vp, operations, and Ballash.
"It's a great opportunity for her," said Corey Faul, president. "She's very talented.
"And we wanted to give her a well-rounded understanding of what goes into product — not just to make it beautiful but also cost-effective. She has real potential, and she's very upbeat and excited about the job. We are very happy to have her working for us."
Tweedie relocated to Portland from New York for her new post.
