BBB promotes Stark to president

UNION, N.J. – Bed Bath & Beyond has promoted three top executives, effective immediately.Arthur Stark becomes president and retains the title of chief operating officer. Eugene Castagna is named chief financial officer and treasurer. Richard McMahon is promoted to the new position of chief strategy officer and vice president, corporate operations.
Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Steven Temares said the promotions “formally recognize the outstanding contributions of these individuals.” Stark joined the company in 1977 and has worked in both merchandising and operations, most recently as senior vice president and chief merchandising officer.
Castagna succeeds Ronald Curwin, who was named to the newly established position of senior vice president of investor relations. Castagna joined the firm in 1994 and in 2000 was promoted to assistant treasurer, vice president of finance, and principal financial and accounting officer.
McMahon joined Bed Bath & Beyond in 1998; his most recent appointment was to vice president, supply chain and chief information officer, in 2001.
All three executives will continue to report to CEO Steven Temares.
