Hudson Industries employs sustainable memory foam

Richmond, Va. – Inspired by emerging call for earth-friendly products, foam pillow and mattress cover producer Hudson Industries recently collaborated with major foam technology providers to come up with sustainable memory foam offerings.

The company’s new trademarked Polar Foam Cool Foam products will now be specially manufactured with two innovative eco-friendly technologies – one that replaces a significant amount of petrochemical-based polyol with natural, plant-based renewable materials and a second that allows for the recycling of this product.

This “Eco Foam” employs Bio-164, a 100% all natural proprietary blend of Magnoliopsida-class plant oils. This blend of plant oils is used to replace nearly 13% of the petroleum-based polyol that is used to produce this foam technology, according to the company.

• Really sustainable? Let's see the facts. It's fine to print company PR, but what about actually investigating what the companies are saying. Sustainable? Does that mean it's not petroleum based. Gee you're saying that it's replaced 13% of one chemical. Where's the FTC on this information. How can I have this information in my stores and be protected legally? What if the company's results are fixed or biased or outright lies? Cooler and plant based. I think they could say that it's everything that their PR department wants it to be, but with no substantiated facts and information. Maybe I've been a buyer too long and can sniff out non-sense and so-called company facts. Is this polar foam actually tested by an outside, non-company affiliated laboratory? Chances are it's not.
