New York – Textile Fabric Associates (TFA), the high end affiliate of Swavelle/Mill Creek Fabrics, has acquired Plantation House, the wholesale fabric division of Weathervane Hill, Inc.
The line, which is designed by Tom Roth and Robin Babbin, will be marketed by TFA. The eco-friendly fabric collection of linens and linen/cotton stripes and plaids “represents a new category for our company,” said Jeff Thomases, ceo of Swavelle/Mill Creek.
“We are taking over 15 or 16 styles in these looks, plus the inventory, and we will show them at Showtime in December,” Thomases added. The fabrics range from $7.95 to $15.95 a yard.
Thomases said, “The combination of Plantation House’s unique aesthetic and the strength of the TFA organization will provide all market segments an exciting product line with great service and continuity. The TFA-Plantation House team is committed to developing new and exciting designs every season.”
Roth will continue to sell the fabrics through designer showrooms – a separate business – and at his 15,000-square-foot retail fabric store and workroom in Norwalk, Conn.
