Decosit Successor Show May Reduce Show Days

Brussels, Belgium —
Mood, (Meet only Original Designs), the successor to Decosit produced strong interest in the new outdoor presentation, wall coverings and the launch of the Blue Drop design award program.
At the same time, the exhibition held here last month recorded a drop in attendance of 20% compared with Decosit in 2008, said Patrick Geysels, general manager of Textirama, the show organizer.
The attendance falloff, Geysels explained, was the result of a major decline in attendance from the Middle East (because of Ramadan), as well as fewer visitors from Eastern Europe (Poland and Russia) and the United States.
In analyzing the attendance figures on a daily basis, Geysels said: "We noticed that Mood has 10 percent less visitors after the first two days of the fair."
As a result, the organization is considering a cutback from four days to three days, although a decision has not yet been finalized.
