WPS names vp of bed merchandising

NEW YORK — Scott Maddalene has been named vice president, bed merchandising at WestPoint Stevens, effective Feb. 2.

Maddalene has been managing director for WestPoint Stevens Europe in London since 2000. He joined WestPoint as a sales rep in 1980, became sales and marketing manager of the Canadian operation in Toronto in 1982, then returned to New York as an international product manager in 1984. He became vice president merchandising in 1990 and was named vice president merchandising for the Ralph Lauren Home license in 1998.

In his new New York-based role, he will manage the department store, specialty store, warehouse club and institutional businesses, as well as direct all aspects of independent decorative pillow product lines.
