Shaw exec leaves for 828 Int'l.

GREENVILLE, SC -Stephen Roan has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vp, sales for North America, at 828 International Trading Co.

He leaves his post as vp, sales at Shaw Industries to take the new job, which officially begins March 15. Roan will report directly to Ivan Phillips, executive vp, sales and marketing.

"We are awfully excited about having Steve," Phillips said. "He's well known and does a very good job. He is very effective at what he does-organizing a sales force and selling product. The customers love him."

Roan worked for Shaw Industries for the past 13 years, the last five spent in the rug division in several capacities, first in operations and later in sales. Prior to working in the rug division, Roan held various operations and marketing positions with Shaw Industries.

"828 is a very young and growing company that has a staff with a very high level of integrity," he said. "I am very excited to help the company grow."
