Peking Handicraft gets contemporary for holiday

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 5/28/2008 1:34:00 PM

San Francisco – Home décor and gifts manufacturer Peking Handicraft Inc. has created a new line of holiday-themed textiles set to launch during the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings market in July.

Designed in-house, the PHI collection includes guest bathroom towel sets and kitchen towel sets suitable for gift-giving.

The themes represent the company’s new take on holiday – a contemporary approach that employs updated variations of the season’s traditional palette of red and green; these hues are updated and matched with fashion colors like brown, pink and sky blue.

The designs on the guest towels, for example, feature digitized embroidery, a process that requires a computer to translate artists’ designs into stitches. Computerized embroidery designs are created with running, satin and fill stitches that provide deeper detail through color selections, stitch styles, stitch direction and thread density. The result cannot be matched by hand or machine-guided embroidery.

Peking Handicraft’s showroom space in Atlanta is at the AmericasMart in suite 10-A-4 of Gift Building One.
