Steve August named marketing chief for SharperImage.com

Farmington Hills, Mich. – SharperImage.com has tapped Steve August as senior vp and chief marketing officer for the SharperImage.com online and catalog operation.

He will also oversee direct marketing efforts for affiliates, portals and customer relationship management as well as customer analytics and database modeling.

August spent nine years at Brookstone, where he most recently was operating vp for customer marketing. His hiring follows that of fellow Brookstone alum Mark Anthony as senior vp/gmm.

SharperImage.com, which launched this past October, is operated by private investment group Camelot Venture Group. Its first catalog is slated to drop ahead of the June Father’s Day holiday.

The Sharper Image brand is owned by a joint venture between Bluestar Alliance, Hilco Consumer Capital and Gordon Brothers.
