Blu Sand launches bleachsafe towels

By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 7/19/2004 12:00:00 AM

Blu Sand International Inc. has launched a new line of Bleachsafe cotton towels and bathrobes that are specially treated for laundering in hot water with chlorine bleach without losing their color.

The new line of bath, spa and hair towels, bathrobes and spa wraps is designed for high-volume use. The Bleachsafe items are available in a professional line geared to the spa, salon, hotel and healthcare industries, as well as a home textiles line.

Developed with a technology that took five years to perfect, Bleachsafe's colored linens are manufactured in China with a 100-percent cotton fabric and a patent-pending formula that encapsulates the fiber so it can be safely laundered in the hottest temperatures, with or without chlorine bleach, without fading or damage, stated Blu Sand.

"Bleachsafe's assortment offers a complete collection of solid-color linens that provide price, quality and something no other brand can — performance," says Morris Sitt, president of Blu Sand.

The company is launching a solid-color program including a wash, hand and bath towel and a patterned dishcloth, as well as a professional line with 100 percent cotton salon hair towels, spa hand and bath towels, twin and full spa sheets, unisex terry and velour robes, spun cotton smocks, terry salon wraps and headbands.

Both collections are available in many colors including black, white, beige, red, green, purple, navy, brown and pink.

"The value of this new technology is that the products will last longer and therefore offer a cost savings to consumers," added Raymond Menaged, vice president of sales and marketing at Blu Sand.

Bleachsafe's target retailers range from big-box department and specialty stores to mid-size and regional department stores to the professional salon and spa industries, hotels and hospitals. Bleachsafe towels are sold on QVC for $10.99 bath, $4.99 hand and $3.99 wash cloth.
