cmi Photo Contest to Raise Profile for Sample Centers

Braided-texture rug and accessories manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills Inc.) this month launched a summer photo contest designed to encourage dealers to completely update and improve their in-store cmi Rug Sample Centers, Swing Arm Sample Systems and Mini Rug Sample Centers.

Samples can be purchased by taking advantage of the company's "$2 for $1" promotion. For every $2 worth of product purchased, an additional $1 will go toward sample updates.

Only up-to-date point-of-purchase entries will be considered. A list of 2009 POP info can be found on cmi's website on the http://www.colonialmills.com/Dealers/Point-of-Purchase-Sales-Materials/ page or a 2009 sample list can be viewed at www.colonialmills.com/Dealers/Sample-Update-Checklist/.

To participate, cmi customers must submit a picture of their store manager and sales representative with their updated POP sales display. Submissions can be sent by U.S. mail or e-mail. Entries must be postmarked by Sept. 30, and sent attention to Shirley Smith, CMI — Colonial Mills, Inc., 560 Mineral Spring Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02862.

The drawing to select the winners will be held at cmi Oct. 15.

The store manager and sales representative who come in first place will each receive a flat screen television. Second and third place winners will earn a digital camera and an iPhone, respectively. All entries will receive a surprise gift for the store and the sales representative.

cmi's Rug Sample Center displays 32 styles in 15 square feet of floor space. The company's Swing Arm Sample System displays cmi's full line of oval and rectangle sizes on 10 swing arms. This system consists of 20 rugs with samples and free merchandising aids attached. The Mini Rug Sample Center uses 5 square feet of floor space and is equipped with a self-service rack to display six styles and millions of color/design options. The customer chooses from any six of 32 binders available.
