Nourison plans party at rug market

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Area and accent rug manufacturer and importer Nourison is gearing up to celebrate its 25th year in business with a party scheduled during the Atlanta International Area Rug market in January.

Founded in 1980, Nourison is a supplier of handmade area rugs, including Tibetan weaves, hand-knotted wool and silk Chinese carpets, classic flatweaves and hand-finished power loom products. Four years ago, it added handmade, washable accent and scatter rugs from China to its assortment. “Our strategy is simple,” said Alex Peykar, principal. “We look at the market to see what other companies are doing, and then we do something different. We focus on creating new opportunities.” Nourison's 25th anniversary party will be held Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the company’s showroom, 3-D-2, at the Atlanta AmericasMart.
