Sunbrella Expands Recycling Program

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/27/2009 12:00:00 AM

Glen Raven Custom Fabrics has greatly expanded its recycling program for Sunbrella fabrics. Sunbrella fabrics returned to Glen Raven will be repurposed in a variety of products such as felt used for car insulation and protective padding for sports equipment as well as decorative pieces such as outdoor rugs.

The new program, Recycle My Sunbrella, has its own website that provides information about the project as well as a shipping form. Glen Raven is accepting any pre-consumer or post-consumer Sunbrella fabrics, including those used in upholstery, awning covers and boat covers.

"This program is part of our decades-long commitment to environmental stewardship," said Randy Blackston, vp of operations.
