HFPA reschedules roundtable
The Home Fashions Products Association has moved its roundtable discussion to Nov. 8. It will feature top executives from major retailer operations, including Charles Chinni, senior vp and gmm, home and fine jewelry, JCPenney. To be held at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel, the event will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:30, and then the discussion will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
New Rich's store planned for Georgia
Federated has announced that a new Rich's location is scheduled to open in spring 2002 in the Peachtree Mall in Columbus, GA. Formerly a Montgomery Ward unit, the store will be a one-level department store of approximately 110,000 square feet. "We have had our eye on the Columbus market for some time, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Rich's to Peachtree Mall," said Ron Klein, chairman and ceo of Rich's/Lazarus/Goldsmith's. Renovation and remodeling will begin this fall.
