Fabrics section to debut at Material World

Kennesaw, Ga. – Show operator Urban Expositions will put a special focus on Home Furnishings Fabrics as the newest growth area for the Sept. 25-27 edition of Material World New York at the Jacob Javits Center.

Home Furnishings Fabrics will join four other special focus areas for the 2007 New York edition, including Eco-Friendly, Performance, Design & Merchandising Solutions, and Product Lifecycle Management. Together, these five sectors will be emphasized with dedicated educational programming, special promotions, and new product resources.

Material World will have more than 475 exhibitor companies, the show operator said. “Home furnishings attendees will have the chance to explore these domestic and international resources while also getting an inside look at breaking home colors, trends, textures and fabrics,” said Tim von Gal, president, Material World.

The representation of home furnishings will include a variety of mills, converters, leather and trimming manufacturers showcasing product in a wide variety of categories, including cottons, chenille, chintzes, velvets, faux fabrics, flocks, jacquards, leather, sheeting, tapestries, with offerings aimed at manufacturers of bedding, bath and related home textiles; retailers; interior designers; jobbers and over the counter businesses.

As part of the educational offerings at Material World New York, Home Textiles Today editor-in-chief Jennifer Marks will present a special seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Marks’ presentation will include a brief industry overview and provide insight on the latest industry trends and innovations.
