New York — Area rug importer Trans-Ocean Inc. has appointed industry veteran Linda Harlow to the newly created post of vice president of merchandising.
Harlow has worked in the industry for almost 30 years. She comes from the Sphinx division of Oriental Weavers Holdings, where she spent the past four years as division managing director. While there, she helped found the company's Oasis handmade rug collection.
Prior to that, she spent 25 years at Macy's West, most recently as area rug buyer.
Said Charles Peck, president, Trans-Ocean, “Her vast experience on both the retail and wholesale sides of the business ensures that she will make a strong contribution to our management team and allow us to more rapidly develop our wide variety of licensed lines.”
Harlow will continue to be based in San Francisco.
In other news, Trans-Ocean recently expanded its licensed program with designer Liora Manné and is adding three new licensed lines with artists Kelly Hoppen, Lillian August and Winterthur Museum.
We would love your feedback!
