House to Home Will Address Color, Design

The 2004 House to Home Market Week, held from Oct. 16 to 19 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, will feature a series of programs addressing color and design directions, lifestyle trends, and the future impacts upon the home products industries.
The show is being produced by George Little Management. The educational component of the show is produced by GLM in conjunction with the New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association, and Executives Working in Home Textiles. The overall House to Home show includes the New York Home Textiles Show, the New York Gourmet Housewares Show, Surtex Gallery and Global Connections.
PROGRAMS & EVENTS
TV Time: A Powerful Draw for Home Products
Date: Oct. 16, 8-9:30 a.m.
Location: Fashion Institute of Technology — Eighth Ave. at West 27th St., Bldg. A, 8th Floor
Market participants are invited to join Executives Working in Home Textiles (EWHT) for its semiannual Market Week Breakfast, featuring a panel discussion on successful relationships that have emerged between retailers, TV prime time and the consumer. Living 2007: Trends in Home Décor
Date: Oct. 16, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
Location: Javits, Room 1A03
Line Tousignant, director of Peclers Paris North America, will take an extended look into 2007 and the major cultural influences that will propel the home industry forward. Admission $40 in advance and $50 onsite.
Opening Night Reception & 'Best New Product' Awards
Date: Oct. 16, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Location: Javits, North Concourse
Show participants are invited to toast the winners of the New York Home Textiles Show and New York Gourmet Housewares Show Best New Product Awards. New York Home Textiles Show Best New Product Awards for Bath, Bed, Home Accessories, Home Apparel and Kitchen/Table Linens, plus a Best of Show, will be presented.
Global Trends … The Future is Now
Date: Oct. 17, 8 a.m.: Coffee and Networking; 8:30-10 a.m.: Presentation
Location: Javits, Room 1A03
Emerging product ideas from Europe's 20 most popular trade events will be explored in this session with Jennifer Castoldi, founder, president and creative director of Trendease International, a Paris-based forecasting service. The session is presented by GLM's House to Home Market in conjunction with the New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA). Admission $40 in advance and $50 onsite.
The Colors of Money
Date: Oct. 17, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Location: Javits, Room 1A03
In this session with Dan Westervelt, color consultant, artist, product designer and president of Westervelt Studio, participants will find out which colors are impacting all facets of home style now and gain insights into colors for 2007. Admission $40 in advance and $50 onsite.
