LOWELL, MA —
Roger Milliken, chairman and ceo of Milliken & Co., is among the first three leaders elected to the American Textile Hall of Fame, a newly established program honoring dedication and commitment to the U.S. textile industry.
The program will be housed permanently here at the American Textile History Museum — the nation's largest and most comprehensive textile museum.
According to ATHM, Milliken is recognized nationally and internationally for his lifelong commitment to excellence, innovation, leadership development, environmental protection, and continuous quality improvement in every aspect of the field of textiles.
Elected with Milliken are textile pioneer Samuel Slater, and leading electricity generating company Duke Power. The inaugural class of 2001, selected by the ATHF board of governors, will be honored at the Museum at a luncheon and induction ceremony on Sept. 10.
