Family Dollar: Barker now vp/gmm

Matthews, N.C. – Family Dollar Stores has promoted Donna Barker to vice president – merchandising, general merchandise manager.
Barker joined the company in 2003 as divisional vp of home with responsibility over soft home and home décor categories. Prior to joining Family Dollar, Ms. Barker served as a divisional merchandise manager with Belk Department Stores.
In her new role, she will report to Mike Kvitko, senior vp – merchandising.
“This promotion recognizes Donna’s performance and commitment to provide our customers with quality merchandise for their home at prices they can afford, and acknowledges her success under challenging economic conditions,” said Dorlisa Flur, Family Dollar executive vp, chief merchandise officer.
Musical chairs!!! They fail at one store or position and then they leave or
get promoted!! The creative juices have stopped flowing in retail. Not
one ounce of style, value or creativity. The retail business is just like the
automotive business in the U.S doomed to failure. Walmart took over,
and we will all wear yellow jump suits, drink and eat out of plastic.

She should be fired for the junk they have in their
stores... let them go compare what they carry with TJX &
Ross so they know what junk they buying.
