IFDA Opens SoCal Chapter

The International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) recently opened a chapter in southern California. Rita Orland of Wings, Inc. Design, has been designated as the chapter's president. Designcorp International in Solana Beach, Calif., will serve as the chapter center.
IFDA membership is open to all professionals in interior design, manufacturing, distribution, publication, education, and marketing in related furnishings and design industries. For those entering the industry for the first time, there is a special two-year introductory membership. A student membership is available for those currently enrolled in a college or specialty interior design program.
Southern California industry professionals are invited to attend the upcoming kick-off event on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at the San Diego Convention Center. The guest speaker will be Grace McNamara, publisher of Window Fashions magazine, who will discuss trends and how the industry is changing. Danmer Custom Shutters will sponsor a luncheon following the program.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:15 a.m .with lunch at 1 p.m.
