Bacova gets space at 295

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/17/2001 12:00:00 AM

Bacova Guild Ltd., manufacturer of accent and scatter rugs, door mats and area rugs, recently took over the lease of a 5,000-square-foot showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue.

The upcoming New York Home Textiles market marks the first for Bacova, based here, since it came under new ownership June 30. Bacova, previously owned and operated by Burlington Industries, is now owned by Rocky Mount, VA-based Ronile, a major supplier of space-dyed yarns.

Bacova's new showroom, suite 814, is currently being "completely gutted and remodeled," said Charles Bowers, president.

"But now it might be a bit of touch and go for us with the tragic events in New York City," Bowers said. "It might be a little hard to find help to finish the work. But we are pretty certain it will all be ready for market."

Bacova will introduce several collections for market: accent and scatter rugs and floor mats, all of which are machine-washable and have latex backing; and room-size rugs, which are printed and handcarved nylon with linen backing.

"Business is good, and we expect this market to be a very successful one for us and our new lines," Bowers said.
