Textiles showrooms spread at 7W

New York – The showroom building at 7 West 34th is going to have its largest contingent of home textiles firms for the upcoming August markets, as several volume-oriented suppliers take up space in the building.
Dan River and rapidly growing Indian mill Alok will open new showrooms, as will Extreme Linen, Yunnis Mills/Royale Linen, Textrade, and Suriya Rugs. They will join American Century Home and several fine linen purveyors in expanding the home textiles presence in the building.
“Textile was ways going to be a piece of this building,” said Chris Collins, vp/general manager. He added: “This is probably the biggest push so far.”
Although 7W focused at first on gift suppliers (the long-time gift building at 225 Fifth Avenue had just closed), “the ultimate goal is to have a hybrid building,” Collins said. He envisions home textiles, gift/home accents, and tabletop each with about one third of the space.
The 11-floor showroom center recently opened two new floors.
