Mount Vernon Mills transfers some operations

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 5/13/2003 4:16:00 PM

Greenville SC — Fabric producer Mount Vernon Mills has transferred operation of its LaFrance Home finished products business to Southern Home Accents, paving the way for LaFrance to add import products to its roster of U.S.-produced goods.

Southern Home has been involved with LaFrance product development as well as the cut and sew. Southern Home at one point also handled LaFrance Home's distribution.

Southern Home will retain all of the division's marketing, merchandising and sales staff. LaFrance will be the major supplier of domestic fabrics.

"We will significantly expand our product offerings with imports using Southern Home's expertise," said Scott Goodman, vp sales and marketing, Southern Home Accents.

Southern Home Accents will exhibit its new lines during the September New York Home Textiles Market in the LaFrance showroom at 230 5th Ave.
