ABC Carpet Offers Summer of Love Rugs

Jumping on the "Summer of Love" 40th anniversary bandwagon in its own inimitable style, ABC Carpet and Home is promoting a "kaleidoscopic" assortment of hand woven, semi-antique and vintage rugs.

"This is an excellent representation of the extensive style range of Oriental carpets," said Graham Head, vice chairman of the ABC Carpet division. "The complexity of the designs and intellectual use of color suggests the idea of rugs as art."

ABC has assembled rugs that mix traditional and modern themes, with some using experimental combinations of contrasting hues, intensities, textures, and weaving techniques.

In 1967, San Francisco was at the epicenter of various countercultural, psychedelic movements in art, music, fashion, and other political and social aspects. The current marketing of the anniversary is occurring across a plethora of media and marketing niches.
