Sears Holdings appoints Haworth evp and president, retail services

Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears Holdings has appointed James H. Haworth as the company’s new evp and president – retail services, effective Jan. 31.

He replaces Kevin R. Holt, who will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, Sears said.

Haworth most recently served as chairman, president and ceo of Chia Tai Enterprises International Limited & CP Lotus, an investment holding company principally engaged in the operation of one-stop shopping centers within China. In 2005, he founded Business Decisions Inc., a consulting firm specializing in strategic product marketing for the retail, merchandising and supply chain industries. Prior to that, Haworth spent 20 years with Wal-Mart Stores Inc., where over that time he climbed the ranks. His posts there included executive vice president of operations for Sam's Club, and executive vice president and coo for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

In his new post, Haworth is responsible for the oversight, leadership and strategic growth of retail services for all Kmart and Sears stores. Additionally, he will serve as a member of the internal holding company business unit board of directors.
